Overview

The historic village was once frequented by samurai, wandering poets and travellers to rest and recuperate. And who could blame them, with legend saying that good fortune will come to those who bathe in all of the town's onsens.
Make your way through the narrow streets lined with buildings some hundreds of years old and you will soon understand the reason for its popularity - the village has all the peace and tranquillity of old-world Japan. On the odd occasion, you might even see some friends from the Monkey Park too! The Macaques freely wander the streets and scale the rooftops looking for food and an open door to an onsen.
