Backcountry Tours
Joining a backcountry tour in APPI is an excellent way to experience the area’s best snow and terrain. The relatively mellow terrain surrounding Appi make It an easy fun and safe way to gain experience in the backcountry. Still participants must at least have some experience of backcountry skiing/snowboarding to join the group tours. However there are also Private Backcountry guides which are suitable for first timers. Private guides are also a great option for experienced skiers looking to push themselves and get the most out of their backcountry outing.
Snowshoeing
Guided Snowshoe tours are a great way to experience the true roughed wilderness of the Japanese winter. Tours take you to the top of a near by mountain, to view the spectacular natural phenomenon of rime ice or spot fresh footprints of wild animals left in the snow. One can enjoy different aspects of the nature that you just cannot experience on the resort. Reservations are required for guided snowshoeing tours.
Self-guided snowshoeing is also available on a designated trail around the Appi Hotel. It is a fun way to gain your first experience of snowshoeing in powder snow. Great for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with themselves, nature, family or that special someone.
